Who are we looking for?
We invite candidates for GIS Intern with the right skill sets about GIS, Cartography, and OSM to execute map-making and various other map-related works. Enthusiasts with GIS and cartography knowledge and experience are encouraged to apply. The main objective of this internship is to contribute to the Chepang Project which is a part of the HOT Microgrant and YouthMapper's Fellowship.
Responsibilities
- -- OpenStreetMap Data Extraction
- -- Analyzing spatial data through the use of mapping software
- -- Designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources
- -- Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations
- -- Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data
- -- Maintaining the Geospatial Database
- -- Work and analyze on OpenStreetMap data to make map
Skills
- -- Experience with mapping tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, and Carto
- -- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
- -- Good analyzer and quick decision-maker
Qualifications
- -- Candidates with a strong understanding and knowledge of Geographic Information System(GIS) and a deep interest in map design and interpretation
- -- Candidates should be enrolled or should have a degree in geomatics engineering or a related field
- -- Experience in Cartography, map-making, and such works are preferred. The experience could be a college project, a research study, any self initiatives or a consulting project

WEB GIS DEVELOPER: INTERN

We invite candidates for Web GIS Intern with the right skill sets about GIS, Cartography, Database, and Programming to develop a web app to visualize geospatial data. Enthusiasts with GIS, Programming, and cartography knowledge and experience are encouraged to apply. The main objective of this internship is to contribute to the Chepang Project which is a part of HOT Microgrant and Youthmapper’s Fellowship.
Responsibilities
- -- Maintain the Geospatial Database
- -- Develop mapping applications and tools
- -- Develop web-based visualization platform
- -- Prepare banners and slides upon need
Skills
- -- Proficiency with database and backend techniques such as PostgreSQL, Django, etc.
- -- Proficiency with front-end design languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various mapping languages
- -- Outstanding quantitative skill set
- -- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
- -- Good analyzer and quick decision-maker
Qualifications
- -- Candidates with good knowledge in programming and website designing are preferred
- -- Experience on WebGIS, Cartography, map-making, and such works are preferred. The experience could be a college project, a research study, any self initiatives or a consulting project
